About Me

To bring a sense of wonder and whimsy back to everyday life, Maya’s Illustrations brings handmade, one-of-a-kind creations to San Francisco and beyond. Through my arts-based workshops, I help teams and individuals alike get in touch with their creative selves.

My name is Maya and I am a multimedia artist dedicated to the creation of whimsical,  handmade sculptures, paintings and print products. I primarily work with polymer clay, acrylic, oil and mixed media illustration. In addition to my handmade work, I facilitate on-site, one-of-a-kind creative employee experiences and art workshops. My workshops include sculpture workshops, doodle parties, paint and sip evenings, portraiture classes, and more.

I was born in San Francisco and have lived in the Bay Area my whole life. For me it’s a dream come true to be living in San Francisco and part of the vibrant arts scene here. I've been drawing and painting since I was 3 years old and have taken art classes throughout my academic life, including at UC Berkeley and at La Pontificia Catholic University in Santiago, Chile. In May 2024 I completed the Renaissance Center’s Small Business Planning Class to grow my business.

When I’m not working on art projects or teaching workshops, I’m teaching classes for people studying for the U.S. citizenship test or collaborating with local Bay Area non-profits to plan resource fairs and know your rights events through my role as the Citizenship and Grants Coordinator at East Bay Sanctuary Covenant. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish.
